Katie has embraced the beauty industry with a lifetime dedicated to hair and makeup and within the union between her and her husband, fellow stylist, Daniel. Her sensitive, compassionate, people-pleasing nature allows her to see her clients’ inner beauty and translate what makes you shine through your hair and makeup. Katie is known for her personalized consultations, as she takes time to listen to your needs and craft a look that suits your lifestyle, while also teaching you the best way to recreate your style. This way, you will not only leave the salon feeling fabulous, but with the knowledge to recreate your signature look on your own.
Katie graduating at the top of her class at Robert Paul Academy of Art, Science and Cosmetology in Lutherville, MD, and has gained years of experience working in high-end salons, as she worked at Grapevine Hair Studio for the past 13 years. With fifteen years in the business, she has continued her education through Wella hair color, Graham Webb, Vidal Sasson and Unite Academies. With platform education under her belt, she is well versed in a wide variety of skills: Geometric, razor, long hair, clipper cuts, multi-dimensional color, gray coverage, pastel to party colors, highlighting, Keratin Complex Smoothing Service, extensions, up-dos, bridal hair and makeup. Katie is known for her love of textured hair, and has acquired a devoted, curly-haired client base.
Katie won first place in Wella’s Regional Trend Vision Contest for creating a complete look inspired by one of their trends including hair color, cut, style, makeup, clothing and professional photo shoot submission. Along with her husband Daniel, Katie is also a platform educator with Unite Eurotherapy, educating other stylists on the latest trends from the fashion runways, cutting, styling, updos, product knowledge and reinvigorating stylists love of hair and their profession.
She loves editorial work, print photography, commercials and advertising and has had the pleasure to work with many of the top professionals in Baltimore. She worked on many shoots with dear friend and iconic Baltimore photographer Sam Holden, including M&T Bank ads and commercials featuring Baltimore Raven Todd Heap. Along with Sam Holden and MGH advertising and PR firm, she most recently worked and modeled in the 75th Anniversary Old Bay “The Can That Connects Us” print and commercial ad campaign. Other companies she has worked with include: Baltimore Magazine, The Baltimore Sun, Shine Creative, and Jonathan Hanson Photography.
